4. HELENS WILLS MOODY
She was born on 8th October 1956 in Czechoslovakia. She became a professional tennis player in 1975 and won 18 Grand Slam singles. She holds the record for winning the highest number of major women’s doubles titles (31). She is the only tennis player who held the number one spot for over two hundred weeks.
She was born on 6th October 1905 in the United States of America. She was very popular for forcing her opponents out of their positions and being in control of the game. And also for not showing any emotion while playing!
Her skills were marvelous and to a certain extent, even therapeutic to watch. She won 19 Grand Slam singles; winning the first one at the age of seventeen. Overall she won 10 Grand Slam double, seven Grand slam mixed doubles and she has two Olympic medals to her name. She died on 1st January 1998.
